Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does the Juke Box E1 HiFi Set include speakers and their connecting cable?
The current global set page lists a Speaker Box 5 E pair and a 3 m Connect it LS E Flex cable, along with the Juke Box E1, remote and accessories. This package must not be transferred to the separate U.S.-facing standalone E1 listing.
Can the listed set play through its supplied speaker system without a separate receiver or phono box?
The set page describes the E1 as containing a phono stage and power amplifier and lists speaker outputs and the included speaker pair. The documented built-in route does not call for an added receiver or phono stage; confirm the exact U.S. electrical supply before purchase.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the set document fully automatic start and end-of-record handling?
No. The setup guide shows manual tonearm movement with the lift lever; the reviewed maker documents do not specify automatic arm return or a record-end stop. That is not proof those behaviors are physically impossible, but they are not verified capabilities here.
Explore this need in the finder →This source-led assessment is for the Pro-Ject Juke Box E1 HiFi Set, the maker's bundled turntable-and-speaker system. It is not a listening test, a review of a particular unit, or a claim that this exact package is sold in the United States. Pro-Ject's global product page distinguishes the HiFi Set from the standalone Juke Box E1 and names the parts that belong to the set.

The set is more than the standalone E1
Pro-Ject's set page lists the Juke Box E1 with a pre-mounted Ortofon OM cartridge, a Speaker Box 5 E pair and a 3 m Connect it LS E Flex speaker cable. The same page also lists the remote and batteries, felt mat, dust cover and power supply. That exact component list is why the set needs its own assessment: it should not be merged with the separate U.S.-facing black E1 listing, whose seller describes speakers and speaker wire as separate additions. Nor does the set page give the cartridge a suffix, so the OM 5E in the standalone seller item must not be copied onto this package.
The included speakers make this a system-oriented bundle rather than a bare deck. Pro-Ject describes the Speaker Box 5 E as a two-way bass-reflex monitor and publishes its dimensions and weight separately from the turntable. The page does not promise a combined footprint; the two speakers need placement of their own, and the supplied cable length is a planning limit rather than proof that every room layout works.
One chassis supplies the central electronics
The E1 combines a turntable, phono stage, Bluetooth receiver, line preamplifier and power amplifier. Pro-Ject rates its output at 2 × 50 W into 4 ohms and lists speaker outputs, a fixed line output described as carrying the record-player signal, and a separate Phono Out. Bluetooth and one analog line input are listed for other sources. For the included speaker pair, the maker's intended arrangement is a short chain: record, E1's phono section and amplifier, then the speakers through the supplied lead. That avoids adding a separate receiver and phono box to the documented set configuration.
The other outputs are different routes, not extra stages to combine. The separate Phono Out is for a phono-stage input; the fixed line output is not described as volume-controlled. Check the manual and the exact receiving component before connecting either. A receiver's PHONO socket expects a phono-level cartridge signal, while AUX or LINE expects a line-level signal; do not choose by connector shape alone. The manufacturer set page establishes the output names, but not every possible system combination or a guarantee of compatibility with equipment it does not identify.
Setup is straightforward in concept, but cueing is manual
Pro-Ject says the cartridge tracking force and anti-skating are pre-adjusted, and the linked setup guide shows the user fitting the belt, placing the record and moving the tonearm with its lift lever. This is still hands-on record placement and cueing, not a fully automatic start-and-return design. Electronic selection of 33⅓ and 45 rpm is listed. The inspected set page and setup guide do not document a 78-rpm arrangement, an automatic arm return or a platter stop at the record's end; those behaviors remain unknown rather than proven impossible.
A practical benefit of an integrated system is fewer boxes and connections. The corresponding tradeoff is that amplifier and phono behavior are built into the turntable, while exact replacement or future-upgrade paths depend on the connections the maker lists. The E1's speaker output belongs to the integrated amplifier, while Phono Out and the fixed line output serve distinct external paths. Read those labels carefully instead of treating every RCA socket as the same signal.
Measure the deck and the speaker layout separately
Pro-Ject lists the E1 body at 415 × 118 × 334 mm (W × H × D), or about 16.34 × 4.65 × 13.15 inches, with a net mass of 5 kg. Each Speaker Box 5 E is listed at 160 × 255 × 210 mm and 4.2 kg. The deck dimensions do not include room to raise its dust cover, lift the arm, handle records, reach rear connections or bend cables. The speakers require their own positions and separation; the 3 m lead does not specify how much cable must remain available after routing. Treat these as published body measurements and component data, not a measured shelf-fit guarantee.
What remains unverified for a U.S. purchase
The captured official listing is global. It establishes the maker's set identity and component list, but not a U.S.-distributed SKU, local electrical supply, seller carton or current U.S. offer. That does not mean the set is unavailable in the country; it means this review cannot treat the global package as a verified U.S. buying configuration. Before considering any exact offer, check the model name on the carton, the cartridge installed, included speaker pair and cable, power-supply input/output markings, return terms and local service route. The available set page calls the cartridge only “Ortofon OM,” so the exact stylus and cartridge suffix should be confirmed from the package documentation.
Sources and limits
The official Juke Box E1 HiFi Set page establishes the bundle components and set specifications. Its linked Juke Box E1 product-information sheet describes the E1 core, not the speaker bundle; the set page supplies the separate package evidence. The E1 setup guide supports the belt, speed and manual-cueing discussion. No sound test, ownership, independent measurement, price, stock or seller experience is claimed.
