A useful fit for

A model-identification reference for the exact DelaDap Wave edition, its OM5e and artist artwork. Confirm the platter/mat, phono path and local supply in any exact listing.

The main tradeoff

No exact U.S. item or package is established; older platter/mat wording conflicts; 78 rpm and end-of-record automation are not documented.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Does the DelaDap Wave need a separate phono stage?

The linked Primary E / DelaDap Wave guide describes PHONO-level output. Use a suitable MM PHONO input or add an external phono stage before LINE/AUX input or powered speakers.

Can it play 78-rpm records?

No 78-rpm mode is documented. The exact page and product information list manual 33 and 45 rpm only.

Is a felt mat included with its acrylic platter?

The 2018 product information table says “300 mm with felt mat,” while its narrative and the current exact page identify an acrylic platter. The exact separate mat inclusion is unclear, so confirm the actual unit or listing.

Pro-Ject’s current global directory names “DelaDap Wave” and links to an exact product page titled “Primary DelaDap Wave.” The page identifies a complete belt-drive turntable made with the Austrian band DelaDap, with the band’s artwork, an Ortofon OM5e cartridge and an acrylic platter. It also marks the page sold out. This is a reference to the named global model, not a confirmed U.S. listing, power version or seller carton.

What the edition adds to the Primary platform

The dedicated page describes a Primary E-based deck with special DelaDap artwork, a 300 mm Acryl it E platter, an OM5e cartridge and a tonearm tuned for the OM-series cartridge. It lists a stiff composite-fibre chassis, four vibration-absorbing feet, an aluminium tonearm and dust cover. The product information likewise describes a composite-fibre plinth and a pre-adjusted OM5e, and gives 420 × 112 × 330 mm and 4.0 kg net. The artwork is the edition’s visible difference; the underlying setup remains a conventional manually operated record player.

There is a source inconsistency around the platter and mat. The current exact page calls the platter acrylic. In the 2018 product sheet, the specification table says “300 mm with felt mat,” while the descriptive text calls it an acrylic Acryl it E platter. I use the current page for the model’s stated platter material, but do not treat a felt mat as a confirmed included accessory. Check the actual listing or unit for the platter and mat rather than transferring one wording to a seller’s package.

Plan the phono chain and manual speed change

The exact page lists a belt drive and manual speed change between 33 and 45 rpm. It does not list 78 rpm. The linked Primary E / DelaDap Wave manual describes hand operation and a PHONO-level connection to a suitable phono input, with an external phono stage needed when the amplifier lacks one. It does not establish a built-in phono stage, direct LINE output or automatic arm return. Use a compatible MM PHONO input, or place a suitable external phono preamp between the turntable and powered speakers or a line-only amplifier. Do not equate the supplied phono lead with a phono stage.

The manufacturer specifies the OM5e with 18 mN pre-adjusted tracking force and an 8.6-inch aluminium arm. Those numbers are a setup reference for the documented cartridge, not an instruction to apply blindly to a used table. Confirm that the cartridge and stylus are actually the OM5e and are in serviceable condition before adjustment. The review does not claim a listening test or measured performance.

Dimensions are helpful, but not full clearance

The product page gives 420 × 112 × 330 mm (width × height × depth) and 4.0 kg net. These body measurements help screen a shelf, but the sources do not state the lid-open clearance, and a photograph is not a measuring tool. Pro-Ject lists a power supply and dust cover; its linked manual says the power cord is suitable for the purchaser’s country, but the sources reviewed do not identify a specific U.S. edition, plug or package. Check the exact supply and contents before connection or installation.

Who should keep the model name for comparison?

The DelaDap Wave is a distinct model reference for someone drawn to the band artwork and an OM5e-equipped manual 33/45 deck. The records and room scene in an official photograph do not imply a bundled album, speaker or rack. It is not a fit to assume for a listener who needs 78 rpm, built-in amplification, a line-level output, automatic cueing or a known U.S. package. The current page’s sold-out notice says only how that global page appeared when checked. The official U.S.-selected dealer locator identifies a distributor and dealers, not a model-by-model inventory or proof that this edition is locally offered or absent.

For any regional or used listing, verify the exact DelaDap Wave edition, OM5e and stylus condition, actual platter/mat, power supply and plug, dust cover, phono-stage path, measurements, condition and return terms. This assessment uses Pro-Ject’s product page, product information and linked manual; it does not assert ownership, hands-on use or current U.S. availability.
