A useful fit for

A model-identification reference for the exact PS00-Frida artist edition, its documented 2M Red, carbon arm and manual 33/45-rpm phono-level setup; it is outside the U.S. buying shortlist.

The main tradeoff

The exact U.S. offer, supply/plug and seller package are unverified. The product page and edition sheet conflict on weight and published speed figures; do not use those unresolved figures to rank performance.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can I connect PS00-Frida directly to AUX or powered speakers?

The guide describes PHONO-level RCA output. Use a compatible MM PHONO input or a suitable external phono stage before LINE/AUX or powered speakers.

Does PS00-Frida have automatic arm return or auto-stop?

Its guide describes manual arm placement and lift. Automatic start/return and end-of-record stop are not established by the exact-model sources.

Are PS00-Frida and PS01-Wave the same turntable?

They are separate Parov Stelar edition identities with distinct artwork. Their official sources describe similar hardware, not a shared retail SKU or interchangeable seller package.

The Pro-Ject PS00-Frida is a Parov Stelar artist edition based on the Debut Carbon Esprit DC platform. Its dedicated manufacturer page identifies a belt-driven deck with an acrylic platter, carbon-fiber arm, pre-mounted Ortofon 2M Red and manual 33/45-rpm selection. This evidence supports a model-specific reference, not a current U.S. buying match. The artwork and broad hardware description are clear; a regional retail package, supply plug and current offer for a specific unit are not.

Identify the exact Frida edition

The exact PS00-Frida product page describes a collaboration with Parov Stelar and a strictly limited run of 1,000 pieces worldwide. Its official photo shows the Frida portrait treatment on the plinth. The linked user guide names the Debut Carbon DC Esprit SB and Ortofon 2M Red; the product page and edition-specific sheet tie that hardware to this exact PS00 edition. This is a complete turntable identity, not a record, a generic color selection or a seller-created bundle.

Pro-Ject lists a 300 mm acrylic platter, an 8.6-inch carbon arm, 6.0 g effective arm mass, 18.5 mm overhang, 10–30 mN tracking-force range and 2M Red cartridge. The product page gives 415 × 118 × 320 mm with the lid closed, a 15 V DC / 0.8 A supply and a 4.9 kg net weight. The directly linked manual walks through belt, counterweight, anti-skating and cartridge setup. These are maker statements; no unit was measured for this assessment.

Allow for the phono connection and manual setup

The PS00 guide describes phono-level RCA output and a compatible PHONO input or a separate phono stage before any line-level input. It does not document a built-in phono preamp. A receiver or integrated amplifier with a suitable moving-magnet PHONO input is one documented path. If the rest of the system only accepts line level, an external MM phono stage is needed before AUX/LINE or powered speakers. Speakers and amplification are separate system components; the turntable is not an all-in-one playback system.

The guide shows a manually operated arm and adjustment steps, so the documented workflow is hands-on cueing. The exact page lists 33 and 45 rpm with manual speed change; no 78-rpm path is specified. It also does not establish automatic arm return or an end-of-record stop. If you are inspecting a used PS00, confirm that the fitted cartridge is actually a 2M Red, check the stylus and belt, and inspect the arm, anti-skating weight and power-adapter label. A model page cannot guarantee what a seller retained, replaced or packed.

Published figures do not fully reconcile

The exact PS00 page and the linked PS00-Frida information sheet conflict on weight and speed figures. The product page lists 4.9 kg net, separate wow-and-flutter values for 33 and 45 rpm, and speed-drift values; the sheet lists 5.6 kg net and different single-value performance figures. The documents do not resolve those differences. I have not selected one weight or treated the two performance descriptions as independent test results. Confirm any specification that matters for transport, shelf loading or comparison with the exact unit and manufacturer.

The dimensions are a closed-cover footprint. Allow extra vertical clearance to raise the dust cover, reach the cueing lever and route the cable; the published body height is not an open-cover requirement. The listed supply is likewise not proof that an individual adapter has the right mains input and plug for a U.S. home. Read its label before connection.

How it differs from PS01-Wave

PS00-Frida and PS01-Wave are distinct model names and edition images, even though their pages describe closely similar Debut Carbon Esprit-based equipment. The Frida image shows the portrait artwork; the Wave image has its own pattern. The sources do not define the two model numbers as a quality ladder or prove a performance difference. Keep the identities separate when checking a listing, and compare the exact edition documentation rather than borrowing a package or seller description from the PS01. The separate PS01-Wave assessment describes its own edition-specific evidence and discrepancies.

Bottom line

This reference is useful for identifying the PS00-Frida artwork edition and planning for the documented manual, phono-level, 33/45-rpm chain. It is not presented as a current U.S. recommendation: the exact U.S. offer, seller item, adapter/plug and carton remain unverified. The manufacturer’s global page was marked “SOLD OUT” in the 2026-11-05 capture, but that dated status does not establish the status of every seller or a unit’s condition. This is an evidence-led reading of official documents, not an audition, ownership report or test.

Sources and method

The assessment uses the exact model page, its edition-specific product information and the exact model-named user guide linked there. The image is the official PS00-Frida edition photo, not a photograph of a U.S. seller’s package.
