Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can the E1.2 BT use a receiver's wired PHONO input?
Yes when the selector is at PHONO, which bypasses the internal stage; check that the receiver input matches the Pick it MM E. LINE should not feed a PHONO input.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the E1.2 BT feed a normal line input without a separate stage?
Yes with its selector at LINE; the built-in MM stage is then in use. A line input still is not a power amplifier, so passive speakers need an amplifier.
Explore this need in the finder →Will E1.2 BT receive phone audio or automatically return its arm?
It is documented as an A2DP Source transmitter, not a Bluetooth input. The manual describes user arm cueing; automatic start/return and record-end stop are not established.
Pro-Ject's E1.2 BT combines the E1.2 manual belt-drive deck with a switchable MM phono stage and a Bluetooth transmitter. The U.S. Satin Black item page names a Pick it MM E cartridge and identifies the package separately from the standard E1.2 and E1.2 Phono. This review weighs documented routing and operating limits; it does not report hands-on playback, measurements or ownership.
Bluetooth is an output route, not an input
The manufacturer specifies Bluetooth 5.4 using A2DP Source and lists SBC, aptX HD and aptX Adaptive. That source role means the turntable transmits its record signal to a receiving speaker, headphones or amplifier. It is not described as a receiver for phone music. Pairing is a separate button operation, and the setup guide says the module can be switched on or off. A compatible receiver must actually support the connection route you intend to use; a codec list is not a guarantee that every speaker or television pairs or negotiates aptX.
Bluetooth also does not remove every analog choice. For wired playback, set the selector to PHONO when using a compatible MM PHONO input or external stage; set LINE to use the built-in phono stage before powered-speaker LINE or amplifier LINE/AUX. Do not send LINE output into another PHONO input. The internal stage is not a power amplifier, so passive speakers still need an amplifier. If you already have a PHONO-capable receiver but do not need wireless transmission, E1.2 Phono offers the wired stage without this transmitter; Standard omits both additions.
The platform remains the manual E1.2
The BT version retains the documented Pick it MM E moving-magnet cartridge, conical stylus, 730 g die-cast aluminum platter, felt mat and electronic 33/45 selection. It is still a manual turntable: install the belt and platter, set the arm on the record and lift it at the end. The switch's off position stops the motor, but it is not evidence of automatic start, arm return or a record-end platter stop. Pro-Ject's manual and product information do not establish an automatic stop for this package, so that feature remains unknown. The documentation lists 33 and 45 rpm, not 78 rpm.
Cartridge force is another detail best handled conservatively. The cartridge-specific line in the user manual gives 20 mN (2.0 g), while the product-information sheet describes the tonearm's pre-adjusted figure as 17.5 mN. The maker does not reconcile those values. A replacement cartridge is a different setup job; for the included one, check the exact delivered instructions before turning the counterweight.
The complete signal chain still needs compatible equipment
For ordinary passive speakers, the receiver or integrated amp has two possible roles: its MM PHONO input can provide the stage, or its LINE/AUX input can follow the turntable's own LINE output. The amplifier still supplies speaker power. Powered speakers need either a line-level signal from the turntable's LINE setting or a compatible Bluetooth receive mode. The included RCA lead is the wired route; the setup guide distinguishes the Phono/BT versions from Standard and lists an RCA-to-3.5-mm adapter for those versions. A plug adapter changes connector shape, not signal level or device capability.
Check the real shelf and the finish item
Official body dimensions are 420 × 112 × 330 mm (about 16.54 inches wide and 12.99 deep); the cover-open envelope is larger. Leave clearance for the lid, rear cables, arm lift and controls. The manufacturer lists 3.6 kg, but that generic figure should not be transferred to the separately heavier BT Colour chassis without a variant-specific confirmation.
Sky by Gramophone's U.S. item pages show standard-foil Satin Black, Gloss Black, White and Walnut variants, alongside the hand-painted Color editions. Their barcodes and retailer SKUs identify seller records rather than a canonical Pro-Ject MPN. The finish images below are exact listing references; a photograph cannot prove the transmitter electronics inside a particular carton.

Who benefits from the extra connection?
This model is a plausible shortlist choice if your system can make practical use of either the switchable wired stage or a Bluetooth audio transmitter. It adds flexibility, but not automatic operation, Bluetooth input, 78 rpm playback or speaker amplification. Check your receiving device's inputs and wireless support first; confirm the exact E1.2 BT and Pick it MM E item, and leave room for the cover and cables. If no wireless receiver is involved, do not pay for a transmitter capability that the rest of the chain cannot use.
