A useful fit for

A distinctive limited-edition two-speed deck for someone who wants the Elvis design and already has a compatible moving-magnet phono route. Its published 18.31 x 13.66 inch closed-cover body gives a useful first shelf screen, not clearance.

The main tradeoff

The Rainier MM cartridge and included cover make this a defined package, but the exact U.S. retailer page was out of stock when checked. It is manually cued; record-end stop behavior is undocumented, and the limited-edition artwork does not change the ordinary phono-stage, space or setup requirements.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can this Elvis package use a receiver PHONO input?

Yes, if the input supports the included Rainier moving-magnet cartridge. Pro-Ject treats the RCA output as phono signal, so an ordinary AUX/LINE input needs a separate MM phono stage.

Explore this need in the finder →
What does the Elvis package need for powered speakers?

Use a compatible external MM phono stage between the deck and a powered-speaker LINE input. The supplied RCA phono cable does not provide the stage; manual tonearm cueing is still required.

Will the Elvis body fit a 18.5-by-14-inch surface?

Its listed body is 18.31 inches wide and 13.66 inches deep with the cover closed, so those two caps pass the body-only screen. Reserve additional room for the hinged cover, cables, arm access and records.

This is a source-led assessment of the U.S.-facing Pro-Ject Elvis Artist Series package with the Sumiko Rainier MM cartridge. It is not a listening test or a claim about a particular unit. Pro-Ject presents the model as a limited special edition; World Wide Stereo’s exact item page showed it out of stock when checked on November 2, 2026, so this review identifies the package without promising an offer or remaining supply.

Pro-Ject Elvis Artist Series turntable with black plinth, illuminated red Elvis logo, glass platter and raised acrylic cover
World Wide Stereo image from the exact Elvis Artist Series / Rainier MM item page. It shows the distinctive deck and cover; the cartridge is not clearly identifiable in this view, and the image does not document every box component.

The special artwork sits on an otherwise practical two-speed deck

The clearest distinction is visual: the black MDF plinth carries an illuminated Elvis logo, with a dimmer for the lighting. Beneath the dustcover, Pro-Ject lists a 10 mm, 1.7 kg glass platter and felt mat. A belt drive and electronic speed control provide the stated 33⅓ and 45 rpm settings. The official product information does not list a 78-rpm mode, so do not treat this as a shellac-playback option without separate model-specific documentation and a suitable stylus.

Pro-Ject says the limited edition is based on its T2 platform, but this review uses only the Elvis product’s own specifications. Its listed arm is a 9-inch aluminum design with integrated headshell, spring anti-skating, 230 mm effective length and 9.5 g effective mass. The official sheet lists 0.6%/0.5% speed variance, 0.19%/0.17% wow and flutter, and 67 dB signal-to-noise; those are manufacturer figures, not measurements made for this assessment.

Plan a phono route for the fitted Rainier MM

The exact U.S. seller item names the Sumiko Rainier moving-magnet cartridge, and both the manufacturer page and the item identify an RCA phono cable. Pro-Ject’s directory separates the models that have an integrated phono preamp; Elvis does not appear in that list. Treat the Elvis output as phono-level: use a receiver or integrated amplifier with a compatible MM PHONO input, or put an MM-compatible external phono stage between the deck and powered-speaker LINE input. With passive speakers, an external MM stage feeds the amplifier’s LINE/AUX input. Do not connect this deck straight to a line input and assume the RCA connector has already raised and equalized the signal.

Sumiko specifies the Rainier at 5.0 mV, with 2.0 g recommended tracking force and a 1.8–2.2 g range, plus 47 kΩ load and 100–200 pF capacitance. Use these cartridge figures as a compatibility check, not as an invitation to readjust a package Pro-Ject describes as pre-adjusted without following the actual manual.

Electronic speed selection is not automatic arm handling

The product information describes electronic 33/45 speed change, while Pro-Ject’s short setup guide has the owner assemble the platter and belt and lower the arm with the lift. The manufacturer’s separate fully automatic category lists A1.2 and A2, not Elvis. In this context, “electronic” refers to speed control; it does not make the Elvis a fully automatic turntable. Buyers should be comfortable placing and lifting the arm themselves.

The reviewed official page, product-information sheet and setup guide do not specify whether the platter stops at the end of a record or the arm returns. That behavior remains unknown, not confirmed absent. If end-of-record stopping is essential, this package is not documented well enough to satisfy that requirement; ask for written model-specific evidence rather than assuming the feature from the speed control or the T2 relationship.

Use the closed-cover dimensions as a first fit check only

Pro-Ject lists the closed-cover body at 465 × 135 × 347 mm (W × H × D), or about 18.31 × 5.31 × 13.66 inches, and net mass at 5.5 kg. World Wide Stereo’s exact page gives the same dimensions in inches. A hard 18-inch width cap excludes it; on this finder’s half-inch increments, 18.5 inches is the first width value that includes the listed body. Likewise, 13.5 inches is too shallow and 14 inches is the first supported depth cap. These are body measurements, not a complete operating envelope: reserve space for cable bends, arm access, record handling and the hinged cover’s movement.

Check the exact edition and package before buying

The captured World Wide Stereo item displays model/UPC 9120137900446; that is the retailer’s identifier, not an established Pro-Ject manufacturer code. The package is identified as the Elvis Artist Series with Rainier MM, and the manufacturer lists an acrylic dustcover, felt mat, single adapter, power supply and RCA cable. The maker page and product-information sheet both list a 12 V / 3000 mA DC supply. Confirm the power brick’s label, cable and accessories in the exact box, especially for any later used, display or open-box unit; confirm the installed cartridge is actually the Rainier.

Compared with Pro-Ject’s The Dark Side Of The Moon special edition, Elvis has the Rainier MM package and a more compact listed body: 18.31 × 13.66 inches versus 19.49 × 15.94 inches for that model. Their arm and cartridge package differ, so do not transfer one review’s exact behavior or setup details to the other. The Elvis page’s limited-edition status and one captured seller’s out-of-stock message also mean an online model record is not evidence that a unit is presently available. No price or stock claim is made here.

Sources and limits

The Pro-Ject model page, its product sheet and setup guide support construction, speed, dimensions and setup. The maker directory supports the stage and automation categories; the exact U.S. World Wide Stereo item identifies the Rainier package, and Sumiko supports its cartridge specifications. No ownership, hands-on testing, ratings, customer experience, price or broad availability is asserted.
