A useful fit for

A fit for a buyer who wants the Bar & Shield-shaped design, a substantial 915 g puck, supplied leather mat and Pick it PRO MM cartridge, and who has an MM phono route.

The main tradeoff

Its exceptionally wide 21.38 x 17.20 inch body needs a substantial shelf before clearance, it is manually cued, the supplied dust cover is not included, and auto-stop is unverified.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can the Harley-Davidson deck use a receiver's PHONO input?

Yes, if the receiver input is compatible with an MM cartridge. The deck's 5P-DIN phono output uses the included 5P-to-RCA phono cable; an AUX/LINE input by itself still needs an MM phono stage.

Does the Harley-Davidson package come with a dust cover?

No. Pro-Ject's product-information sheet says the dust cover is sold separately. Its listed 543 x 124 x 437 mm body size also excludes the space needed for a separate cover and access during play.

What clearance should I allow for its 915 g puck and 2.75 kg moving drive?

The product sheet identifies a 915 g record puck and a 2.75 kg moving-drive mass, but does not give the whole deck's weight. A shelf must leave room for record handling and support the complete package; do not substitute either subassembly figure for the table's overall weight.

The Pro-Ject Harley-Davidson Turntable takes the Bar & Shield outline into an unusually large belt-drive deck. This is a source-led assessment of the U.S.-facing Pick it PRO MM package, not a report of ownership, personal listening or measured performance.

A design-led deck with identifiable system requirements

The chassis follows the Harley-Davidson Bar & Shield shape, with an aluminum-MDF sandwich structure, aluminum sub-platter and glass platter. The 300 mm platter is supplied with a leather mat, and the manufacturer lists a 915 g branded record puck. The moving drive mass is listed at 2.75 kg; that is a mechanical subassembly figure, not the turntable's total weight. A U.S. seller's record identifies the Pick it PRO cartridge, which Pro-Ject itself describes as MM.

The tonearm is an 8.6-inch S-shaped aluminum arm with an SME headshell and gravity-based adaptive anti-skating. Electronic speed selection covers 33 and 45 rpm. The setup guide shows a manual routine: fit the platter and belt, set the counterweight and anti-skating, then lower the arm with the lift. The speed rocker is not a fully automatic start/end cycle. No reviewed maker document confirms a record-end platter stop or arm return, so that behavior remains unknown rather than a claim of either capability or its absence.

Do not mistake the 5P-DIN connector for a built-in stage

The model has a 5P-DIN phono output and includes a Connect it Phono E 5P/RCA cable. Pro-Ject describes that cable as phono-optimized and intended for the minute phono signals produced by a turntable. Alongside the fitted MM cartridge, that documents a cartridge-level signal path, not an integrated line-level phono preamp. A compatible MM receiver PHONO input can provide the stage; for powered speakers or an amplifier with only a line input, use a separate MM phono stage first.

The included lead adapts the deck's 5P-DIN output to RCA at the receiving component. It does not create equalization or make an ordinary RCA AUX input act like PHONO. Nor does the presence of a five-pin connector prove a true-balanced setup: the manufacturer describes a semi-symmetrical cable, not a balanced output package here. Confirm the exact cable and MM input compatibility rather than inferring more from the connector shape.

The cover and net weight are not hidden details

Pro-Ject explicitly lists the dust cover as sold separately. Budget and plan for that accessory if you want the deck covered between sessions, and measure the additional height and access needed to lift a cover around the tall record puck and arm. The manufacturer lists a body size of 543 × 124 × 437 mm (W × H × D): about 21.38 inches wide and 17.20 inches deep. With half-inch quiz increments, the body first passes a 21.5-inch width limit and a 17.5-inch depth limit. Those are body-only thresholds, not operating clearances.

The product sheet does not give an overall net deck weight in the reviewed table. The 915 g puck and 2.75 kg moving-drive figure are not substitutes. Because the design extends beyond the main platter into a shield-shaped plinth, measure the shelf envelope and verify its load capacity with the seller or manufacturer before installation. The published width and depth do not describe how much hand room is needed to change records or move the arm.

Who should keep it on the list

This edition makes sense to evaluate when its design is a first-order preference, its Pick it PRO MM cartridge fits the playback chain and you have room for a 21.38 × 17.20 inch body plus working clearance. Its supplied leather mat, puck and phono cable are documented package features. The separate cover, lack of a published overall weight, manually handled arm and undocumented auto-stop are real planning limits. If a turntable must include a cover or fit a narrow shelf without extra room, compare those constraints before treating the distinctive shape as a benefit.

Exact model and source records

Pro-Ject's Harley-Davidson model page, product-information sheet and setup guide establish the 5P-DIN phono path, supplied cable, MM cartridge, dimensions and separate cover. The U.S.-facing World Wide Stereo item record ties that model to the Pick it PRO package. No overall weight, price, live stock, customer experience or listening result is asserted.
