A useful fit for

A fit to assess when the buyer wants manual two-speed playback, a selectable wired phono stage and a Bluetooth option for compatible powered speakers or headphones.

The main tradeoff

Bluetooth pairing is device-dependent, uses the documented SBC codec, and does not automate the arm or stop the platter; there is no USB capture, 78 RPM, speaker or passive-speaker amplifier.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can the AT-LPW50BT-RW pair with wireless speakers or headphones?

It has Bluetooth 5.2 with A2DP and SBC. The manual says to select LINE and place the device within 1 m during pairing; compatibility with every Bluetooth device is not guaranteed, so verify the specific powered speaker or headphones.

Does Bluetooth make this a hands-off player?

No. Bluetooth sends audio wirelessly, but the LPW50BT-RW is still fully manual: the listener cues and returns the arm and turns the control to stop. Automatic arm action and platter auto-stop are not documented.

Can I use its RCA output instead of Bluetooth?

Yes. Select PHONO for a compatible receiver PHONO input or external phono stage, and LINE for an AUX/line input or powered speakers. These analog paths are separate from Bluetooth, and passive speakers still need an amplifier.

The U.S. AT-LPW50BT is described on Audio-Technica's product page as the rosewood-finished AT-LPW50BT-RW. It is a fully manual, two-speed belt-drive turntable with wired RCA output and Bluetooth transmission, plus a selectable built-in phono stage. Its wireless function changes how the audio can reach speakers or headphones; it does not automate tonearm handling. This is a research-based review of the U.S. product page and official manual, not a listening test or claim of personal use.

Wireless and analog are separate outputs

The Bluetooth route is useful if the intended destination is a compatible powered wireless speaker or active headphones. Audio-Technica specifies Bluetooth 5.2, the A2DP profile and SBC codec. Its approximate 10 m range is line-of-sight guidance, not a guaranteed distance through walls or a promise about interference. The manual says to place the external device within 1 m for initial pairing and to select LINE on the phono-preamp switch. It supports pairing up to eight devices, but explicitly does not guarantee operation of every Bluetooth device. Confirm the target can pair and receive A2DP/SBC before treating wireless compatibility as settled.

For a wired system, the built-in stage is selectable: PHONO output goes to a compatible receiver PHONO input and ground, while LINE output goes to AUX/line or a powered speaker's line input. A separate phono stage can sit after PHONO output if that fits the system. The turntable does not power passive speakers, and Bluetooth does not make passive speakers wireless or add an amplifier. Wired and wireless arrangements are alternatives; check what the speaker actually accepts and whether it controls volume.

It still asks you to cue and stop by hand

The belt-drive motor supports 33⅓ and 45 RPM; the deck is not listed as a 78 RPM model. The operation is fully manual. The user positions the arm, lowers it with the lift, then raises and returns it and turns the control knob to STOP. The manual does not describe auto-start, end-of-record lift/return or automatic platter stop. Buyers seeking automatic handling should look at a fully automatic model instead of assuming Bluetooth supplies convenience at the arm.

The included AT-VM95E BK cartridge carries a bonded elliptical stylus on an AT-HS4 silver headshell. Audio-Technica's page and manual list VM95-series replacement-stylus compatibility, but cartridge replacement still means checking fit and setting alignment, balance, tracking force and anti-skate. Do not infer a 78-compatible stylus from two listed speeds. The wireless and wired outputs are not USB capture: the page does not specify a USB connection for transferring records to a computer.

Room, setup and package checks

The rosewood-finished 30 mm MDF plinth measures 16.54 inches wide, 13.39 inches deep and 4.96 inches high; the listed weight is 5.5 kg. The dimensions are close to the AT-LPW50PB, but allow extra space beyond the body for power and RCA cables, access to the control, arm movement and the cover. Use a level, stable surface away from strong vibration. Pairing and shelf fit are independent constraints: passing one does not solve the other.

Manufacturer package lists include a dust cover and hinges, rubber mat, platter with belt, counterweight, headshell/cartridge, 45 adapter, RCA cable and AC adapter. The manual provides the platter/belt installation and arm-balance steps, with 2.0 g as the standard force for the supplied cartridge. Check used/open-box listings for a functional belt, correct external adapter, stylus/cartridge condition, counterweight, cover hinges and cable. The manufacturer's package list is a verification checklist, not evidence that any particular seller currently has every part.

Where the LPW50BT sits

Compared with the AT-LPW50PB, the LPW50BT-RW adds Bluetooth and uses rosewood-finished veneer, while retaining manual operation, two speeds, a selectable phono stage, wired RCA, and a VM95E package. The LPW50PB is the piano-black analog-only alternative. The AT-LPW40WN is also wired and manual but has a walnut-look plinth and a separate documented package; the LPW30 uses the conical VM95C instead. These are different functional choices, not finish substitutes.

Choose this model to consider when you need wired options plus Bluetooth and accept a hands-on tonearm routine. Skip it if you need full automation, a platter that stops itself, a digital USB recording connection, 78 RPM, or amplification for passive speakers inside the turntable. The review makes no claim about sound quality, actual radio performance, measured speed, reliability, current price or stock.
